I am facing an issue with stat command. Please suggest. If manual entry is there for any particular command that means command is installed and need to know the path details?

The Unix Man pages should always have the full pathname near the end for standard utilities. Some versions of "where" and "which" are pretty dire. But all of them rely on some form of your PATH variable to decide what the command would mean if you issued it. Problem is, Paul, that for some years now, the Solaris folks have been putting all the man pages together as one or a few installables to make it easier to share them all out from one place i.

So, there are lots of man pages in there that don't apply to the system at hand. First, in Solaris 10, "stat" is a system call, not a command so you will not find it in any of the usual bin or binary directories.
